Managing Director at RM Global (US Office), Bruce holds over 20 years of international banking, strategic, and investment experience in the life sciences sector, with a specific focus on medical technology.
Bruce has built a track record and predecessor firm, Roberts Mitani, completing numerous innovative life sciences transactions, including approximately $3 billion in acquisitions & licensing, and $200 million in private funding for start-ups. Bruce has also advised on life science investment strategies for corporate clients including Toyota, AmorePacific Group, and Cosmotec.
He is a board member of Control Medical Technology, a medical device company commercializing novel aspiration devices, and a managing partner of Health Family Capital, LLC, a family office focused on private medical technology investing. He is also a board member of BioEnterprise, an Ohio initiative designed to grow health care companies and commercialize bioscience technologies, whose founders and partners include Cleveland Clinic & University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, and is a member of the Board of Associates of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research affiliated with MIT.
Prior to his banking career, Bruce was an owner and director of Flori Roberts, a successful consumer skin care company sold to Ivax Pharmaceuticals, and practiced corporate and securities law with Sidley Austin, one of the leading law firms in the U.S.
His past directorships also include Endologix, a U.S. medical device company (current market capitalization app. $900 million), Devax, a U.S. coronary stent company, and Global Biomedical Partners AG, a Swiss based biomedical-focused private equity fund management company (sold to HBM Bioventures). He has also lectured on private equity at the Executive MBA program of the NYU Stern School of Business and served as a judge for the Genesis Generation Challenge, an initiative of the Genesis Prize Foundation in honor of Michael Bloomberg. Bruce received an A.B. in History and Government from Harvard College, summa cum laude, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
